The Strandhill Indonesian Relief Fund, or SIRF, is based in Co. Sligo on Ireland’s west coast. SIRF was formed by a group of surfers who wanted to give back something to the people of Java, Indonesia, who were devastated by a serious earthquake in May 2006. With the help of their partner organisations, Mumbali and the Bantul Kindergarten Project, SIRF has completed the rebuilding of five kindergartens and there are new projects on the way.
